Diana Ruiz How Our Personal Histories inform Who We Are.

The daughter of pro-democracy Cuban revolutionaries, Ruiz built her organization based on her family’s legacy of believing in the possibility of a more just world. Since 2005 she’s developed leadership roles and community outlets for women internationally, most notably in the postwar zones of the Balkan region. Diana founded the nonprofit Women’s Global Leadership Initiative in 2008. By addressing women’s needs for community, support, and education, they will become credible, active decision-makers who will facilitate positive changes in their families, communities, and the world. www.wgli.org
