Women’s Global Leadership Initiative Announces Spring 2016 Core Leadership Program Providing Professional Learning and Growth Opportunities

Santa Rosa, California, March 17, 2016 — Women’s Global Leadership Initiative (WGLI) has announced Sonoma County’s Spring Core Leadership Program which will take place over five Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm starting April 23 and 30, May 7 and 14, and June 4 at Empire College at 3035 Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa.

The Core Leadership program is taught by highly-skilled local professionals who are excited to work with local women to teach them core competencies through skill-building exercises and active discussions. Attendees will learn and seek guidance in areas including team building, conflict management, emotional intelligence, gender communications, project management, negotiations, financial literacy, and career planning. Each student will complete the program with their own professional development plan, a WGLI Leadership Certificate of Achievement, and the opportunity to request a WGLI mentor in a professional area of interest.

Diana Ruiz, WGLI’s Executive Director, said, “We have offered our leadership program in Sonoma County in years past and our graduates have told us how much they have increased their self-esteem and self-confidence. This ability has helped them gain empowerment in their own lives, in their communities and in their professions. We are thrilled to be able to provide this program again to Sonoma County women seeking professional leadership skills and the ability to create and follow their own specific development plans for their futures.”

Registration is currently underway for the Spring 2016 program. The standard fee is $550, the fee for non-profit participants is $450, and the student fee is $350. WGLI offers scholarships and discounts which are available to those who meet financial assistance requirements. The deadline for financial assistance and discount requests is April 15th. Registration ends April 20th. Visit www.wgli.org/recentevents or email info@wgli.org for more information on how to register.
