The 2017 Women of Color Leadership Forum: Changing the Game is the premiere Bay Area gathering to inspire and ignite change

San Francisco, CA – November 3, 2017 – Today, the Women’s Global Leadership Initiative (WGLI), an international nonprofit dedicated to training women to become successful leaders in their communities, workplace and associations announced that it will present key workshops and speeches at the 2017 Women of Color Leadership Forum: Changing the game. This will be the first time the WGLI has had a presence at this conference and is expected to be attended by nearly 300 Bay Area women of color on Tuesday, November 7th.

The Women of Color Leadership Forum is an entity of conferences from the Breaking Glass Forum series, an organization dedicated to accelerating diverse talent and inclusive organizations. Breaking Glass Forums is a trusted, collaborative partner for organizations who want to drive more innovative solutions, collective actions and stronger employee engagement.

The forum series title comes from the phrase “Glass Ceiling”—the unseen yet unreachable barrier that keeps minorities and women from rising to the executive level of the corporate ladder, regardless of their qualifications or achievements. First coined by feminists in reference to barriers in the careers of high-achieving women.

On behalf of the WGLI, we are thrilled to present our life-changing workshop to women of color and help them reach their greatest potential,” according to WGLI, CEO, Diana Ruiz. “Participating in this influential event allows our organization to further our mission and signifies the demand for such programming in Silicon Valley.”

The conference is intended to bring together incredible women of color leaders, thought-provoking workshop facilitators and committed ally advocates in support of a one-day program designed to help all women play a bigger game. Engage in deep dialogue, find future champions and get equipped with practical strategies to not just talk about change but to make change real.

WGLI, CEO, Diana Ruiz and Board President, Lori Cornmesser will provide a workshop, Building True Equity for Women through Community, to hundreds of attendees at the conference. In this workshop, attendees will look at the beliefs and inherent behaviors that interfere with building healthy relationships with other women, and explore the why, how and what changes need to take place within ones self to create trust, equity and power.
